The power to choose positive behaviors

I knew I was up to something good... The scale this morning = 151 lbs. I'm so proud of myself right now - I could burst!!! It's such a sweet feeling of success... it's almost addictive. I'd love to feel like that for the rest of my life, but I know I'd have to work hard for this feeling every day.

And what's the way to achieve this sweet feeling of success? Greg Anderson, the author of The 22 Nonnegotiable Laws of Wellness is a very smart guy. Here are few of his wise words I've found online the other day :

"The perfect no-stress environment is the grave. When we change our perception we gain control. The stress becomes a challenge, not a threat. When we commit to action, to actually doing something rather than feeling trapped by events, the stress in our life becomes manageable".

Control and action are two ways to achieve success for sure. That's what I feel I have today.

"Although our inattention can contribute to our lack of total well-being, we also have the power to choose positive behaviors and responses. In that choice we change our every experience of life!"

Yeap. Positive behavior, though hard to maintain 100% of the time, does shift us towards success.

"Changing our diet is something we choose to do, not something we are forced to do. Instead of dreading it, try saying, ''Here's another thing I get to do to help myself. Great!''

Changing our diet is hard. I feel lucky I love fruit and veggies to begin with, and don't fancy red meat too much. It sure make it easier to develop and maintain a healthy menu, which in return brings me into the healthy, successful zone.

"Stop the mindless wishing that things would be different. Rather than wasting time and emotional and spiritual energy in explaining why we don't have what we want, we can start to pursue other ways to get it".

So bloody true, and I realized it in the last few months since I've started my pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Wishing for something is fruitless if one doesn't do a damn thing to change things. Action, baby, is the name of the game!

"You can't expect to prevent negative feelings altogether. And you can't expect to experience positive feelings all the time. The Law of Emotional Choice directs us to acknowledge our feelings but also to refuse to get stuck in the negative ones".

Yea... again, not easy to achieve, but it's a matter of our choices at the end of the day. And if we manage to put our hands (or rather heart) onto some positive feelings... there are mornings like mine today, when the scale moves down and the realization of a wish/dream/will comes to life in front of our eyes.

Life is good! *s*.
