Condos for rent • Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta's badlands, Alberta, Canada |
And here's another one from Dinosaur Provincial Park, just to point out the obvious: the best time to take photos in the park is late afternoon (or early morning, of course). When the sun light isn't harsh anymore, the warm colors in the rocks (Red, Orange & Yellow) pop out in all their glory, and the landscape looks even more fantastic! This photo was taken from the bottom of the Little Sandhill Coulee. We actually hiked down the hill into the coulee, after seeing the area from above, and identifying the entrance point of the trail. The trail moves close to the coulee's wall, and when I looked up - I saw the empty nests!. |
Those bird nests up there in the rocks... we can't say for sure what kind of bird nests there, because we didn't see any around. But, we saw the same type of nests in Calgary, "glued" to the bottom of a bridge, and they were occupied by swallows, so maybe those are the same? (The list of birds in the park does include few kinds of swallows). That was quite an adventure because at one point - before we entered the coulee - we lost the trail and weren't sure where we should go. But people on top of the hill guided us, and we climbed up... explored the area, and then - down to the coulee. |
