Another series is on. Bits of Israeli life is work in progress, meaning I'll add more photos in time. For now, there are 8 photos online. This series intend to show that the people of Israel are very much alive and kicking, in spite of everything that happened here for the last 3 years. Check it!

And the photo of today is taken in my mom's front yard... just a little thing that adds color and beauty to the yard.

Our submission to Photo Friday is on. This week the Challenge is Downtown. The photo we show is one of the first Joe took from downtown Calgary... One of the first photos he took with the digital. Maybe it's not the best photo of downtown we've ever taken, but the view is impressive and spectacular!

Another Theme Thursday. This week's theme is Waiting, and our photo shows the waiting for the pita bread to get baked on the taboon (open fire stove).

The photos harvest of our trip to the Dead Sea is quite big. Out of it, here's our fifth series, Lowest place on earth. It's a showcase of 13 photos from the Dead Sea area, Israel. It has a very special landscape... Desert, sea, urban sight, all mixed together to produce a very different and unique scenery. So... Here it is!

And as a side dish, here are 2 photos of dolls made by the Israeli artist Miri Leibovitz, as captured through the glass of a doll store in Hayat hotel, Dead Sea, Israel. Very special dolls in my opinion.

Our visit to the Dead Sea was short but sweet. Seeing the desert landscape again, after so many years (more than 20, I think), was special to me. I remembered it in my mind's eyes as it was... Some things never go away, you know.

I'm working on a series for this trip. It'll be ready in a day or two. For now, here's an appetizer...
