Calgary exhibition & stampede happens every year in Calgary at the beginning of July, for 10 days. It is the greatest outdoor show on earth, commemorating the old west way of life. 10 days of rodeo, chuckwagons races, agricultural exhibitions, food, fair rides, shows and what not. If you plan to visit Calgary next summer - come in July and don't miss the Stampede!
The Calgary Stampede 2004 is over. As usual, it was a great success! The next few photos from the Stampede have something in common: Motion. Those are only few of the sights we captured with our camera at The Calgary Stampede.

• New place for photographers we've just found is  . Seems nice, with a weekly contest, and an opportunity to post photos and meet new people. Here's our first submission for Saturday, July 24.
Building
• On June 25th we visited Heritage Park here in Calgary (the historical village re-creating life before 1914). Interesting place to see if you visit Calgary. Here're two photos of the engine that runs the old flour mill... just like it was in the beginning of the 20th century:

• Just found a new (to me) photoblog: Photopix Today by Christoph from Germany. Clear crisp photos from his travels. I'm going to spend a nice time there *s*.

• WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT???!!! Cool, isn't it? Our new license plate for our new Ford Windstar. See, I always said that when I'll have my own car, I'll get a license plate that says LORIEN. When we bought the Windstar a month and a half ago Joe suggested to ask for a LORIEN license plate. I said: "Let's go with JOLOLOG, since both (the car and the photolog) are ours". 208 Canadian dollars later... there it is!

Since 1 August 2003, "A Picture's Worth" has been showcasing daily the works by visitors who have sent in their special photographs with an accompanying story to explain the photograph's significance.
Since birthdays aren't meant to be celebrated alone, I would like to invite you to join in the first birthday celebrations! I have attached to this e-mail an invitation (in jpg format) which you are encouraged to share. The invitation outlines that one of the birthday presents to the site can come in the form of a submission. A submission would certainly kick start the site's second year.
It is undoubtedly the work contributed by visitors that has been responsible for the site receiving "site of the day" awards from Yahoo!, LockerGnome and Coolstop. More importantly, "A Picture's Worth" has become a haven for people to "show and tell" and where visitors can
learn the story behind personal photographs. The site remains a noncommercial project and into its second year my work on "A Picture's Worth" will continue to aim to provide a valuable contribution to the Internet community.

• Theme Thursday challenge for this week is Sadness.

• So on June 22, 2 days after my mom and bro got here, we had a day trip to Drumheller area, northeast of Calgary. On our way, we visited Horseshoe Canyon.
