• Photo Time Tuesday challenge for tomorrow is Confusion, and we just got the perfect photo for it today.
• Today we had a day trip to Forgetmenot Pond which is located at the end of highway 66, in the Elbow Valley district of Kananaskis country, 40 something km west of Calgary. This pond was created in 1981, and people can fish there as well. Luckily there wasn't much wind while we were there, so we managed to capture quite a nice reflection of the mountains in the pond. A gorgeous place for a picnic indeed!

Yesterday, joined by friends, we had a two-and-a-half hours hike in Grotto Canyon. This hidden marvel of the Rockies can be reached by traveling from Calgary to Canmore on Highway 1A. The canyon is accessible only by foot. It appears to be a riverbed, but there's only a very small stream there nowadays, fed by a waterfall. The old river is long gone.
The entrance of the canyon looks like an entrance to a valley. Later, the walls of the canyon grow higher. The hike itself is done right in the riverbed itself since in most places the canyon walls are pretty close together.
At one point visitors can see ancient faded pictographs that were painted some 1,500 - 2,000 years ago by native visitors from the Arizona region, the Hopi. The questions that still have no answer today are: "Why did they travel so far from their home, and painted those paintings in this canyon? What do these paintings mean? (our fifth photo).
The textures, patterns and colors in the canyon are amazing. We'd like to share some of them with you today.

• i-gizmo challenge for today is Car.
• The photos of today are of a threatening sky we see here a lot lately. First time I saw the Calgarian skies covered with dark clouds and the rain coming down in the horizon, I was astonished. I've never seen something like it before in Israel, not to mention the fact one can see the dark clouds on one side, and bright blue skies with white clouds in the other. Marvelous sight!

Stunning. The only shot at taking fireworks I've tried were without tripod so they were always pretty blur. These are really amazing.

It was a strange situation with this duck. We were sitting by the Glenmore lake, and suddenly she came so close to us as if she knew no fear. She was feeding on the edge of the lake, and at some point she came close to our feet. Later, we understood why... The poor thing can't fly anymore. We felt so sorry for her...
