• Few days ago we got up before sunrise and drove down to the Bow river. The spot we've chosen gave us a great view of downtown, right where the sun light is reflecting in the buildings. The morning light is wonderful, as everyone know... One just have to have the urge to get up so early and capture it *s*. We did.
The last two photos are panoramas... a bit "heavy", but worth the wait *s*.

• Yesterday we had a day trip out in the country side. One of our stops was at Kinsmen Park, Strathmore (a small town 40 km east of Calgary). It was a beautiful afternoon, and we stopped by the lake to have our coffee. Then we spotted the fishermen.
We walked towards the place they were sitting, and had a talk with them. Two young guys (accompanied by the son of one of them) had a pleasant afternoon fishing... and quite a success. They've managed to catch few Rainbow trouts already, and enjoyed their time.
"But", said one of them "We're putting the fish back into the water".
So we stood there quietly, watching them doing their thing. We didn't need to wait long... a fish was caught, and I was clicking *s*. Click here to see our new series, A fish story.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate today. As Joe says, we don't need a special day to give our thanks... we do it every single day of the year. We're thankful for having each other in our lives.... We're thankful for our health... and for our ability to enjoy the little things of life, and not to overlook them.
So today we went out to enjoy the sunrise.

More from our day trip to Nordegg: On our way back home, we couldn't resist the urge to visit Lake Louise again, and for the first time we saw this enchanted place at night time. It was almost dark, yet the glacier above the lake was glowing... and so were the chateau's windows, with all the people behind them. The place looked like a page out of a fairy tale.

• Yesterday we had yet another day trip (Got to have a good use of the few summer days left, right? *s*). We drove almost 700 km in a loop. Our main target was the ghost town of Nordegg which is around 320 km North - West of Calgary. We'll leave the photos from this place for another day, since there are lots of photos to process *s*.
On the way back from Nordegg we entered the Icefields Parkway (highway no. 93, which is the main north - south highway through the Canadian Rockies in Alberta) at the Saskatchewan River Crossing. The Icefields Parkway runs from Jasper to Lake Louise, and one of the gems one can see along this road is Peyto Lake.
Access to the viewing area for this Gorgeous lake and valley is right off the parkway. After a short walk we got to the view point at Bow summit. Peyto Lake was right down in the valley bellow us, surrounded by majestic mountains and green forests. What a sight!!!
The lake is fed from the glacier above it. The mineral content in the glacial water gives the lake its magnificent blue green color in the summer months. No wonder Peyto Lake shows up on so many postcards and photo galleries... It IS one of a kind!
In the next few days we'll post more photos from yesterday's adventure.
