Twas the night before Halloween. We went out to get a better look of Mars, which was the closest to earth last night. It was mostly clear to the east, but when we looked to the west (where Calgary was), the light pollution from the city made the one big cloud in the sky above us glow...
These photos were taken with a tripod, manual mode, exposure time - 16s, f/1.8, ISO 64, no flash.

How perfectly lovely. Miss you. Hectic here, but calming down finally.

Oh that's great! Except for that big cloud, the sky is very clear. My viewing of Mars over the weekend was the start of this year's astronomy season for me!

Just a little something cute/funny for Halloween. We've been to the farmers market again yesterday, and they had this thing going on for Halloween. Lots of entertainment, singers, face painting, clowns... Almost all sellers were in costumes, they had treats for the kids, and it was very colorful and festive... and Halloweenish ;-)).
Joe took the two photos I used for this manipulation. This guy looked real creepy, and he was moving from place to place and then sits there without moving for a while... Halloween is almost here! :-)).

Mmm... Which one?

A leftover from summer. It's amazing to see the geese together, how family oriented they are. The couple mate for life, and they both tend to the goslings.
Sometimes we see them in large groups... few parents with a bunch of goslings walking around together. Fascinating indeed!

This color really seems to suit the season we're in now. What does it for me is the goslings and the goose in the background!

A picture taken by Joe and processed by me. I'm not completely happy with the outcome, though. It was hard to work on this one, but what I tried to do is to make it seem like a painting, an old painting. What do you think?

We have to go out and take some new photos. Becoming more critical of the photos we take is a problem in a way, you know how it goes...
Oh well, this one is from our summer vacation, and we like it, and wonder how come we didn't post it till now. Have a closer look? Do you get what is going on this photo?

Were you hanging out the window when you shot this?!
Derrick | 10.19.05 - 2:38 PM |

Ok... It went like this. Joe took the photo into the side mirror, while his window was closed. The camera was zoomed in, so you can't see the borders of the mirror. And, he wasn't the driver!
That's it :-)).
