A huge pile of salt (harvested from the sea) is laying outside the plant, right on the shore of the Dead Sea, Israel.
And yes, those are mountains in the background... covered with haze. That's the visibility in this area most of the
time. Photo was taken last November.

I spent 6 weeks in Israel during the summer of 1980 -- I don't remember the salt piles, but I do remember climbing the
mountains. Beautiful shot. I love the trees in the foreground, so delicate!
