About this series:

We spent Saturday, February 21, 2004, at Spruce Meadows, a world class equestrian facility in Calgary, which was ranked #1 in the world in 2002. This place hosts major riding and jumping tournaments each year, and is a huge attraction for every horse lover.

I rode horses in the past, for few months. I experienced the indescribable feeling of being one with a horse, and I loved it to no end... till I fell... almost got killed... got scared... and never went back.

We watched a dressage competition in the facility, and also visited the stables... and of course took lots of photos. When we came home to check our "crops", we've found out it wasn't our lucky day. We still need to learn how to take photos of bodies in motion... rapid motion.

But... I loved few of the photos, and didn't want to trash them all, so I "played" some computer magic on them. Here they are, horses "oil paintings".

Horses are bigger than humans. Sometimes they scare me. You might be able to stick your arm down a pitbulls throat and pull his stomach out, but horses would just trample you.

They are magnificent animals... very powerful and smart... and if you treat them right - they do what you want them to do.
