About this series:

This series was taken at Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary on June 25th, 2004. Heritage Park is a living historical village exhibiting life in southern Alberta before 1914. It's the largest living historical village in Canada, with more than 100 buildings, most of them original antique buildings moved to the park from locations around Alberta.

The village includes working restaurants, a bakery, a newspaper, a blacksmith's shop, a barn, a grain elevator, a steam train, a paddlewheel boat, lots of old trucks, horses and wagons... and lots of actors wearing the period clothes and acting scenes from those old days.

Both Joe and I took photos that day, and out of all of them we've chosen to showcase this ensemble of 12 photos - sights and flavors of Calgary's past, depicting the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century... our heritage!

The photos were converted to sepia tones and manipulated to look old... most appropriate, don't you think? *s*.
