About this series:

This series is from our trip to the USA on May 2005. All 22 photos were taken on May 11, 2005, at Dead Horse Point State Park & Canyonlands National Park, Utah.

Canyonlands is Utah's largest national park. The Colorado river meets the Green River in this park, and the Y shape they create slices the park into three distinct sections: Island in the Sky, the Needles and the Maze. Before we entered the Island in the Sky district (the only district in Canyonlands we visited) , we took a side road to the Dead Horse Point State Park. This series includes photos from both parks.

It's a vast wild ancient land out there, people. No photo can really convey how big and majestic it is, all the way to the horizon. One can stand at the edge of a viewpoint, and look down. 2000 feet below, a bottom of a canyon lies undisturbed, huge walls of sandstone with the strangest forms are climbing up to the sky, the Colorado and Green rivers quietly sculpt the vistas... That's how it was, that's how it is, that's how it'll be, in this ever-changing terrain of Canyonlands NP, Utah.

We stood there - at the edges of the viewpoints - astounded. We took photos like there was no tomorrow. We walked the trails which took us closer. And I don't know... what I saw didn't make me feel small at all. It made me feel very lucky - to be there, go through the moment, see it all with my own eyes.

We hope you'll like what we share here with you as well *s*. Click the left thumbnail to start the viewing.
