About this series:

We'd like to share sights from Calgary's 16th Lilac Festival, May 29, 2005. This street festival takes place every year on 4th Street SW Calgary, on the last Sunday of May. It's a celebration of food, music, entertainment, arts and crafts around the time the Lilac is in bloom. 13 blocks of 4th street are turned into a huge pedestrian-only strip, and Calgarians... just... go out ... and have fun!

Though we said before we're not comfortable taking photos of strangers, we did so this time. It was easy, since there were thousands of people in the street... and it was fascinating!
