About this series:

This series is from our trip to the USA on May 2005. All 5 photos were taken on May 12, 2005, at Monument valley, Utah/Arizona border.

Monument valley lays entirely within the Navajo Indian Reservation on the Utah/Arizona border. The isolated red mesas and buttes surrounded by empty, sandy desert had become very famous sights after being photographed for many movies, adverts and holiday brochures. The road to the AZ/UT border, which comes from the north, is the most famous image of the valley.

The East and West Mitten Buttes (very famous) can be seen from the visitor center, but most of what the valley has to offer can be seen only if one takes the dirt roads, accompanied by tribal guides. Because of time restrictions, we decided to enjoy only what we could see from the main road and the visitor center, so actually we only saw but a fracture of this exquisite area. Maybe we'll go back one day, and spend more time there.
