10 Ways to Rev Your Metabolism - Am I doing it?
According to An article (from eDiets) by By Jason Knapfel, there are few ways (10 of them) to rev (the infamous) metabolism. No magic here, just a matter of knowing some facts:
1. Lift weights.
Ok, I'm almost ready to do so. Today we picked up a workout bench in a good will store for 15 $. An excellent find for an excellent price. My plan is still not ready, but it'll be in few days, and then - I'll be doing the dumbbells serenade *s*.
2. Get moving with your cardiovascular exercise.
I am! I do! This morning I walked the thing on 3.3 mph speed and 4% incline for the whole hour, and burned 453 calories. I'm back in the game, and I'm playing it with a vengeance!!!
3. Try interval training.
I'm trying, I'm trying... and so far I can say it works wonders. I can almost taste my progress, and though I have a tendency to go easy on my body, I'm fighting the urge to do so and just go up a notch... just to find I can do harder!
4. Don't overdo calorie-cutting.
No way, baby. Those days I used to walk around hungry are gone! Feeling satisfied all the time is the way to go if I want to make it my lifestyle... for life.
5. Eat breakfast.
Ok, boss. I do! Every day! And I love it! *s*.
6. Space your meals wisely.
Ok... check! I think I eat around every three hours, so.... I'm spacing, baby! *s*.
7. Catch some zs.
zzzzzz....... I'm sleeping somewhere between 7.5 - 8 hours per night, and it feels good. No more naps in the middle of the afternoon for me.
8. Drink water.
Yeap! At least 8 glasses (250 ml) of water per day, plus other liquids like juice, soup, coffee tea... On most days I get in around 13 - 14 glasses of liquids.
9. Skip alcohol.
Don't consume alcohol to begin with. Maybe 2 glasses a month, and always wine. Oh yea, sometimes few sips of liquor after... you know... and before bed... nothing to write home about *s*.
10. Drink milk.
Well, I do have one glass of soy milk per day, but I do eat cheese and yogurt... every day, so I'm good here as well.
So, it seems I'm doing the right things to boost my metabolism, and still, there are few days here and there when my bowels don't get rid of the waste. Still need to find the reason for this, but overall - it's much better than it was in the past.
Read the whole article here. Interesting!
