A gorgeous afternoon + Things I've learned

A quiet afternoon, since Joe was called in into work for overtime. The weather was gorgeous today (went up to 12 C this afternoon), so I decided to do my second 1 hour walk of the day outside, in the sun, with the fresh air and the blue skies. It was wonderful, and to my surprise I was able to maintain a swift pace for the whole walk (55 minutes of it). According to my calculations, I walked more than 3.3 miles, though that's the number I put on my report because we only measured part of this walk in the past.

In any case, it was a great walk outside, and my only hope is there will be more days like today in the nearest future. It feels totally different to workout outside... totally different, and much more fun!

And on a different note: Here are few raw thoughts I wrote down few days back in my draft page. I still need to find the words to describe them clearly, but for now...

Things I've learned - after much pondering - regarding my attempts to change myself before I hit 50

My nutrition/fitness/health plan (weight loss, if you will) will be successful only if:

1) I will not be using any excuses to justify temporary failures. When I fail - I'll acknowledge it with no fear.

2) Failure is an integral part of my plan, because no plan is perfect in nature or perfectly executed.

3) I won't embrace feelings of guilt anymore.

4) I'm not going to take any shortcuts, no matter how tempting they are. No quick weight loss methods, no unnatural things to look better, etc,.

5) Lots of hard work and commitment should always be the name of the game.

More to come in the future.
