It was a cloudy, rainy, stormy, grayish day outside, and it's been like that since this morning. We got to bring some color in... so here are the last photos from the Lilac festival that we wanted to share:

Calgary's Caribbean communities celebrate every year at the beginning of June, for a week or so, and the Carifest parade in downtown Calgary opens the festivities, more or less. It's a celebration of culture, arts and music from the Caribbean Islands, and a wonderful way to bring communities close together in hearts.

Here is the first series from the parade... B & W portraits. Click the photo to go to the series page... and enjoy *s*. In the next few days we'll add more photos from today's parade.

Photo Friday challenge for this week is Landscape. Going west from Calgary, towards the Canadian Rockies, towards Canmore. This photo was taken on April 11th... That's why there's not much green in it yet... but the blues... the blues and the whites... make it all worthwhile *s*.

If you want to see more photos of the area from the same trip, click here and check April 12th and 13th entries.

Thank you so much, btezra. It means so much to get a comment like that, because it happens
to me sometimes that I see a photo that brings back memories, and I'll always thank the
poster for sharing. I'm glad I could offer some photo like that myself

Theme Thursday challenge for this week is Indispensable. A beloved pet is most suitable for this theme, us think *s*... and the lady dog owner agreed for me to take the photo.

And while we're on the subject of Indispensable, here's another beloved pet our camera captured on 4th St., during the Lilac festival on Sunday, and yea... that's a Flames shirt the dog is wearing *s*.

Yea, I'm a Flames fan too!

Most definitely, furry companions are indispensable. They provide the unconditional love no
human could.

Photo Time Tuesday challenge for this week is Wrong.

Wrong
Wrong

The Lilac festival happens on 4th Street, SW Calgary every year, on the last Sunday of May. It's a festival of food, music, arts and crafts. Why is it called "The Lilac festival"? I couldn't find the answer anywhere, so I suppose it's because the Lilac is blooming at this time of the year *s*.

So we've been there on last Sunday and took few photos. Here are some of the people we've seen there:
