There's a herd of Big horn sheep living at the area between Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake, Banff national park. These animals are so used to people, you can come close to them, and they don't give a damn. On the contrary, they almost ask for food. Not a good thing for wild life, but it sure happens with this herd!
It's amazing how well the herd is doing. We see new babies every year when we visit there... and we do manage to see them every time, summer or winter. They're there, walking or running around... This is their domain.
We've been there again on August 14th... and there they were, right on the road between the 2 lakes.

Are you looking at me?
This guy sure looked like the boss. He was walking away from the above part of the herd (which was standing by Lake Minnewanka) towards Two Jack Lake...

Da boss
We followed him slowly, and then we saw another part of the herd coming up the hill... and all of a sudden they started running towards the boss... and since Photo Time Tuesday for this week is Action... that's the photo we've submitted:

Action
So we turned the van and went after the animals to take few more photos... and then we saw the traffic jam they've caused:

What a wonderful place and series of photos. It's a wonder that a lot of them don't get run over?

Oh yes I remember them, they were also blocking the road when we visited Banff a few years ago. Great pictures, thanks for sharing them, they brought back great memories.

It's hard to believe, but there's a lake pretty close to home that we didn't really visit before... just drove alongside it. This time, we stopped and had a coffee break beside Gap Lake. We picked a quiet corner by the water where there was a picnic table underneath a large tree, and a gorgeous scenery of the mountains on the other side of the lake.
It was almost sunset time, and the reddish color of the Rockies reminded me of other mountains... The Edom mountains in Jordan, which one can see from Israel as well.
So here are few photos from Gap Lake:

We're addicted! When we have a day off... we drive to the mountains *s*. Yesterday we drove to Banff again, and later in the afternoon we drove to visit the lakes at the Lake Minnewanka loop, just outside the town of Banff. Lake Johnson is one of them:

Our submission to i-gizmo's challenge for today is up: Head.
The photos of today were taken in B & W. There's lots to learn about night photography, but one thing is sure... B & W makes it very dramatic!
