We drove outside the city last night, in hope to catch us an Aurora Borealis. Spaceweather.com said there was a good chance for sighting. Mmm... what we did catch was a gorgeous lightning storm in the horizon to the east. Joe set the opening of the lens to 16 sec, and clicked numerous times in hopes to catch the lightning. We loved 2 photos of the bunch.

Beautiful color and composition! You may have missed out on the aurora, but the evening was definitely not wasted. That's amazing!

No, it's not his birthday today...
and no, he doesn't / we don't celebrate any anniversary or special date today...

It just feels the right day to let you all know how much he means to me...
How much he brightens my days with those rays of love and support he injects into them...
How meaningful he is to my sanity...
How much I miss him when he's not around.

That's it. This moment of emotional explosion brought to you by Lorien. Move along to less sticky areas ;-).

Here it is... the third and last part of Faces of Lilac festival series, Their faces. We'd love to ask you something... don't move along right after you see the above photo... Please give us few more minutes of your time? You won't be sorry *s*.

There are 19 photos in this series. Most of them were taken by Moshe. His camera and lenses could do much better than ours. It was quite an experience for all of us, though... It is so interesting to capture people's faces, expressions, eyes, smiles... and see the beauty of them all. So here it is... the third and last part of Faces of Lilac festival series.

Snaps magazine is an online photography magazine which comes out once a month. July's Issue #4 is Fairs, festivals, fireworks. Since Calgary has plentiful summer festivals, and we took lots of photos at the Greek festival last month - we submitted 3 photos to this month's issue of Snaps. 2 of them are now online (the first two below). The third photo wasn't accepted, but still... we love it *s*.

Today we bring you the sixth series of our trip to the USA on May 2005 - Cisco ghost town. It includes 12 photos which were taken on May 10, 2005, at the ghost town of Cisco, Utah. As you know, we love ghost towns, so it was clear we had to find us few American ones once we were down there *s*.

It was the third day of our trip. We read on the net that the town site is owned by someone who still lives there, so when we arrived, we looked for him, and asked him if we could walk around and take some photos. He agreed, but warn us to look out for snakes. Two minutes after we started walking around, we met our first - and only - snake of the trip. Luckily all it wanted was to crawl away *s*.

Many old buildings still stand in the area. There are lots of old cars and trucks all over the place, old parts of vehicles and other machines - a gold mine for those who love ghost towns. And the mountains view in the distance is just spectacular!

We decided to process this series in monochrome, and try to convey Cisco's old atmosphere. Click the photo, and begin your journey into Cisco, Utah, USA. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we enjoyed our visit there.
