In the mid 80s, Rowley caught the attention of movie makers. Bye, Bye Blues, a Canadian produced film, was
shot in Rowley in 1988. For a period of three months Rowley was converted into a movie set. Several of the
original buildings were used and others were built especially for the movie.

The producers agreed to leave the newly constructed buildings intact after the shoot ended. One of them is the
Bank building in the photo above. It sure looks old and authentic from the outside. Inside, it contains piles of old
stuff scattered around.

Now, the movie Bye, Bye Blues was a successes in Alberta, more and more people came for a visit, and Rowley
had been on the map again. The town had a new reason to exist - Tourism.
