The Grafton Cemetery (1863-1924) is located approximately one-half mile south from the Grafton townsite along the
Grafton Road. While many of the headstones are missing, it is believed there are 74-81 graves present. Remaining
headstones, such as those found within the wood fenced enclosure near the center of the cemetery, commemorate those
who died and also remind us of pioneer and Indian conflicts in the region during that time. The cemetery also serves as
the resting place for several local Southern Paiute Indians, who according to written history, were loved and respected by
the residents of Grafton.
