Muse... that's what we need right now, as winter crawls in on us, and travel opportunities become rare. We still have in mind to travel this weekend, since the weather - though cool - will have sunshine embedded in it. We'll see what we come up with *s*.

wonderful shot! I like it very very much. The old walls, the colors, the reflections in the windows. I would have taken it too, if I would have come along. *s*

The Chinese mall is a very interesting place I love to bum around in... Weird creatures of the sea, still very much alive, swim around in large water tanks, or just siting crowded one on top of the other. The first time we visited the place I was shocked! Never before have I seen live crabs, eels, clams, oysters, mussels, all kinds of fish and what not swimming around like that in a food store.

Not that those creatures help me built an appetite, mind you... I won't eat most of the stuff that still moves in that store... but I do like to look around ;-).

One of the gorgeous building in downtown Calgary... Somehow, I love the old styles more than the modern ones. I'm not sure if this building is a renovated one. In any case, it's a nice one! *s*.

If you visit Banff National Park in Alberta, and you'd like to see the Bighorn mountain sheep - check the Lake Minnewanka Loop area, especially the road between Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake. Whenever we visited the area (be it winter or summer)- we met them there.

Two main reasons why this herd is always there are: 1) They love to lick the salt off the road. 2) People feed them (A very bad idea!).

We remember one time in particular, when we were coming close to Two Jack Lake, and we saw a family - A ram, a ewe and a lamb - walking in the middle of the road. Of course we had to slow down and follow them, 'cause we didn't want to scare them away. I remember we were joking (since it was Sunday) that it looked like they were going on a Sunday stroll after the church *s*.

Check here, here and here for more photos of the Bighorn sheep we posted in the past.

What a superb creature and a superb shot as well. Never seen one, though I'd like to. On my agenda for our next vacation, I want to see fainting goats in action. Have a great day Lorien. Catch up my grocery shopping tonight, but we can talk tomorrow, yes?

Another one from our trip to the ghost town of Nordegg few weeks back. After we left Nordegg we drove on the David Thompson Highway towards the Saskatchewan River Crossing. We stopped the van when we saw this hypnotic view of the Rockies bating in the last sun rays of the day. We can never have enough of the Rockies! *s*.

Today we introduce to you our new series, Heritage. This series was taken at Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary on June 25th, 2004. Heritage Park is a living historical village exhibiting life in southern Alberta before 1914. It's the largest living historical village in Canada, with more than 100 buildings, most of them original antique buildings moved to the park from locations around Alberta.

Both Joe and I took photos that day, and out of all of them we've chosen to showcase this ensemble of 12 photos - sights and flavors of Calgary's past, depicting the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century... our heritage! The photos were converted to sepia tones and manipulated to look old... most appropriate, don't you think? *s*.

We've waited with this series since it was submitted to Melange magazine, and was supposed to be published on October's issue. That didn't happen - yet - so here's the series... We hope you'll enjoy it *s*.
