Each day brings a new treasure from your site. This one, with a little imagination, reminds me of vast spaces.

We were driving home the other night and I asked Mark to take a photo of the moon, but he'd left his camera at work by accident. You must have read my mind. Thank you, it's beautiful. We'll talk next week, yes? I need to have a laugh or two.

A week ago we drove to downtown Calgary to take some "speed" photos of the LRT, some reflection photos of the buildings, and later we drove up the hill to Crescent Road for a view of downtown we'll never get tired of. The setting sun light comes from the right, illuminating the buildings with some wonderful warm colors. The combination with fall colors was deliciously explosive! *s*.

Johnston Canyon is located at Banff National Park, on the Bow Valley Parkway, some half way between Banff and Lake Louise. The Johnston creek streams inside a canyon, and goes through 7 waterfalls. Two of them, the upper falls and the lower falls are the most impressive.

We visited the canyon on September 25, 2004. The place was crowded with people. The day started a bit too cool, but later became warm and sunny. Our new series (16 photos) shows some of the sights we've seen there.

We've added some wonderful links to our links page today: The next 2 sites of Israeli photographers were found at Anne's place. The first one is Abba Richman's Photo Galleries, and the second is Eyal Bartov :: Photographer. Two great sites worth a visit! And... Ray Soemarsono's Photo Galleries is another beautiful collection of photos. Check it out!

Another challenge from lensday.com, and this time it's Closing in... and this photo was taken at Johnston canyon as well.

"A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature", Henry David Thoreau.

Me thinks us liking to shoot the lakes of Alberta the most *s*.

Yesterday we had a day trip to Kananaskis country. This is a 4250 square kilometers area, located 90 kilometers west of Calgary right on the south eastern corner of Banff National Park. It's a recreational area which supplies opportunities for outdoor activities all year round. The scenery of the Rockies and valleys is just breathtaking, and everyone can find some activity to their liking.

Here is a series of 10 shots, just a few from what we took yesterday. Enjoy *S*.

One year ago, today, JoLoLog was born. It was and is a labor of love - our love for traveling and discovering the beautiful corners of our province, Alberta, the Rocky mountains, and our beautiful city Calgary... and also - of course - our love for photography.

In the last 12 months, We've posted 1,299 photos: 732 photos in 23 galleries, 258 photos in 19 series, and 309 photos in 13 memes. Each photo captures a second in time, a long lasting memory, a feeling... and they're here to share with whomever visits us.

We tremendously enjoy building this photolog, in hopes that you - the visitor - also find joy when you browse through our photos. Thank you for visiting, thank you for leaving kind comments, and hopefully - we'll continue to bring and share with you more precious moments of our lives here in Canada.

So... Happy 1st. Anniversary, JoLoLog... It was one hell of a journey!!! *s*.

Wow, a wonderful birthday gift from All Things Girl net magazine. They published part of my series called The Doll in the Art and Photography section of their Falling l October - November issue. This series is very dear to my heart since it evoked lots of feelings while I took it, and it makes me tremendously proud and happy to see it published elsewhere than our photolog.

My heartfelt thanks to Jennifer Boxer from boxercox.com for accepting this series for publication, and to the rest of the stuff at All Things Girl for doing such a fabulous job. You've really made this special day even more special! Thank you bunches! *s*.

Here's the full series (13 photos). Please let us know what you think.
