Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there *s*. This photo portrays Joe's son and grandson. The little guy is growing up... and growing cuter by the minute! *s*. I've played with it some... that was my fun part.
Have a great day, everyone. We're invited to go out for dinner with Joe's kids later this evening. Poor Joe has to work today, but will have a grand finale later *s*.

• A new series from our trip to the USA on May 2005 is ready. We present to you Salt Lake city's Mormon temple.
We actually drove through Salt Lake city. We didn't plan to have a real visit there, but we wanted to stop at the temple and take few photos, since we visited before, and we knew it was worth seeing again. We had an hour. The weather was quite gray and wet, but still... the view was magnificent, and the temple gardens were in full bloom. Click here and have a look... It's a beautiful place to visit *s*.

Two more photos from our day trip along the Icefields Parkway (Alberta's highway no. 93), May 30, 2005. As we already wrote before, one of the gems one can see along this road is Peyto Lake. There was still snow laying on the ground that day, though it was sunny and bright. After a short hike we arrived to the view point at Bow summit... to find out we weren't alone there!
This magnificent lake is fed from the glacier above it. The mineral content in the glacial water gives the lake its one-of-a-kind blue green color. We were yet again overwhelmed by the beauty of the sight at the view point, and so where all the others.

What birds see

First, our deepest thanks to those of you who commented on our Canyonlands NP series. We felt delighted and proud to read your words... Thank you!
And now, we take a short break from our trip photos, and go back to our local program. We'd like to share sights from the latest Calgary's 16th Lilac Festival. This street festival takes place every year on 4th Street SW Calgary, on the last Sunday of May. It's a celebration of food, music, entertainment, arts and crafts around the time the Lilac is in bloom. 13 blocks of 4th street are turned into a huge pedestrian-only strip, and Calgarians... just... go out ... and have fun!
Though we said before we're not comfortable taking photos of strangers, we did so this time. It was easy, since there were thousands of people in the street... and it was fascinating! We have lots of photos we like and want to post (from the three of us), and we'll do it over a period of few days.
This series will include 3 sections. The first section of the series is called Live statue. 2 other section will be posted as soon as they're ready.

OK, after few long days working on this... here is the third series from our USA trip on May 2005 - Canyonlands National Park. All 22 photos were taken on May 11, 2005, at Dead Horse Point State Park & Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
Canyonlands is Utah's largest national park. The Colorado river meets the Green River in this park, and the Y shape they create slices the park into three distinct sections: Island in the Sky, the Needles and the Maze. Before we entered the Island in the Sky district (the only district in Canyonlands we visited) , we took a side road to the Dead Horse Point State Park. This series includes photos from both parks.
It's a vast wild ancient land out there, people. No photo can really convey how big and majestic it is, all the way to the horizon. One can stand at the edge of a viewpoint, and look down. 2000 feet below, a bottom of a canyon lies undisturbed, huge walls of sandstone with the strangest forms are climbing up to the sky, the Colorado and Green rivers quietly sculpt the vistas... That's how it was, that's how it is, that's how it'll be, in this ever-changing terrain of Canyonlands NP, Utah.
We stood there - at the edges of the viewpoints - astounded. We took photos like there was no tomorrow. We walked the trails which took us closer. And I don't know... what I saw didn't make me feel small at all. It made me feel very lucky - to be there, go through the moment, see it all with my own eyes.
We hope you'll like what we share here with you as well *s*.

The plan for today was to post a new series from our trip to the state, from Canyonlands NP........ Mmm....... It's not ready yet. Still working on it (24 photos need lots of TLC *s*...). So for now, here are 2 photos from Lake Louise taken last May on our day trip exploration of Highway 93.

What a background!
